Official notice
In a special notice on its homepage, the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association lists “78th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (2026) – Own Choice Pieces Submission”: the deadline to submit own choice pieces online is 16 October 2026 at 5:00 p.m., with an online submission link provided in the same notice. The notice does not state how late submissions are handled.
Gradepath analysis
The difference between an own choice piece and a set piece is simple enough: the former has to reach the Association before the deadline. With 5pm tomorrow as the cut-off, note that the notice does not say who submits — the participant directly, or the school on their behalf — so confirm with the teacher in charge today rather than discovering “we thought it was sent” when the festival starts. The Association does not state how late submissions are treated, so treating tomorrow as a hard stop is the only safe assumption. If the school has not submitted yet, today is the only day left to chase it; if it has, resist swapping titles at the last minute and put the time back into rehearsal.
