Four New JUPAS Programmes for 2027 Entry: HKU BA(Elite) and Robotics Engineering, CityU Law + AI Double Degree and SAGE

HKU JS6133 and JS6365 plus CityU JS1063 and JS1120 were published as new programmes; all four pages carry a New tag.

The JUPAS “Latest News” section lists two institutional announcements dated 23 September 2026: “Introduction of New HKU Programmes (JS6133 and JS6365)” from The University of Hong Kong and “Introduction of New CityUHK Programmes (JS1063 and JS1120)” from City University of Hong Kong. The official programme pages name the four programmes and tag each with “New”: JS6133 Bachelor of Arts Elite Programme (BA(Elite)); JS6365 Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics Engineering (BEng(Robo)); JS1063 Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Stream: Artificial Intelligence) (Double Degree); JS1120 Social and Arts Global Excellence (SAGE). All four pages carry the same note: except for Statistics, the information on the page is provided by the institution, and where it differs from the institution’s own website, the latter prevails.

All four programmes are tagged “New”, so they recruit their first cohort this cycle: last year’s figures for the same programme simply do not exist, and the official note makes clear that where JUPAS differs from the institution’s own website, the institution prevails — read the institution’s site for the definitive version. Three things to do now. First, the official description of JS6365 states it is a four-year full-time interdisciplinary programme jointly offered by the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Data and Systems Engineering, and Civil Engineering, underpinned by a Hong Kong–Shanghai two-city study roadmap with a dedicated HKD 50,000 studentship for Shanghai study, a research matching scheme and a HKD 100,000 entrance scholarship for taught postgraduate studies — yet that same paragraph ends with “This programme is subject to the University’s approval”, so confirm final approval before listing it among your choices. Second, JS1120 SAGE is one of CityUHK’s Flagship Programmes; its stated features are free choice of a major within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the beginning of Year 1 (except BSocSc Social Work), two required service-learning courses (PIA2268 and SS2300, three credit units each), non-local academic or research exchanges for eligible students who fulfil the conditions, and one-to-one faculty mentorship; the Flagship Scholarships cover tuition and hall fees with a guaranteed berth and a one-off exchange sponsorship of up to HK$500,000. Third, JS6133 is built around a humanities foundation plus global master’s pathways (Geneva Graduate Institute and the Yenching Academy of Peking University), while JS1063 is offered jointly by the School of Law and the Department of Computer Science for legal and ethical questions raised by AI — both are pathway programmes suited to students who already know their direction; if you have not settled on a major, a programme like JS1120 that lets you choose later is the safer bet.
