Official notice
The programme-changes block on the JUPAS homepage lists HKBU JS2610 and JS2910 as updated on 29 October 2026 under the field "Programme Full Title / Short Name". The official programme pages now carry an Updated flag and show the following. JS2610: BA (Hons) / BSSc (Hons) in Applied Psychological Science, European Studies (French/German Stream), Geography, Global and China Studies, Government and International Studies, History and Sociology, with the short name BA/BSocSc; its short description states that candidates interested in those major areas will be considered jointly and that students choose their major through an internal application after admission. JS2910: Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, rendered in Chinese on the page as 商業分析及人工智能理學士(榮譽), with the short name BSc(BAAI); its stated aim is to nurture the next generation of business leaders equipped with up-to-date technical know-how for technologies that change fast. JUPAS has not published the titles that stood before this change.
Gradepath analysis
A renamed programme looks like paperwork, but it bites in three places. You search for the course under its old name in the JUPAS system or a search engine and cannot find it, discovering the mismatch only when the deadline is close. The old list in your parents' or teachers' hands no longer maps onto what exists, so everyone talks past each other about your choices. And second-hand summaries online that still use the old title end up blending two different programmes into one. The safe habit is to line up choices by programme code rather than by name, because codes survive a renaming. The second point to hold on to sits inside the JS2610 short description: several major areas are considered jointly first and students choose their major through an internal application after admission, so what you apply to is a group of programmes rather than a single major. If you actually want one specific area, check how the major allocation works and how admission to that area is handled before you apply — do not assume you can simply take it later. The page says nothing about quotas for individual majors. Finally, JS2910 combines business analytics with artificial intelligence; JUPAS publishes no admission scores or competition data on this page, so this brief does not speculate on how hard it is to get in, and novelty of name is not a reason to chase it.
