HKCC West Kowloon Centre: about a year of works from late 2026; IEC classes move to Ho Man Tin in 2027

A note on the official form states that the West Kowloon Centre is scheduled for about a year of expansion and enhancement works from late 2026, and that all its IEC classes will be held at the Ho Man Tin Centre throughout 2027 until further notice.

Official notice

The Hong Kong Children’s Choir’s official IEC application form (January 2027 intake) marks certain classes in the class table with an asterisk-like symbol and adds a note on the same page: the West Kowloon Centre is scheduled to undergo an expansion and facility enhancement project commencing in late 2026 and expected to last for approximately one year; during the construction period, all IEC classes normally held at the West Kowloon Centre will be temporarily relocated to the Ho Man Tin Centre for rehearsals throughout 2027, until further notice. Every class so marked lists the Ho Man Tin Centre in the location column.

Gradepath analysis

This note rewrites the geography behind class selection: a class chosen because West Kowloon was convenient will in practice be held in Ho Man Tin throughout 2027. Check the location column entry by entry before ranking preferences rather than relying on the assumption that “West Kowloon Centre” means Tai Kok Tsui. Every class marked with the symbol in the table lists the Ho Man Tin Centre as its location. The choir says only “until further notice”: it publishes no completion date and no plan for returning, so do not assume classes move back after a year, and do not extrapolate a 2028 location from this note.
