Official notice
The class table on the Hong Kong Children’s Choir’s official IEC application form (January 2027 intake) lists, class by class, the fee per instalment (2 months) and the enrolment limit: Nursery 1 and Nursery 2 at HK$2,700 per instalment; Elementary at HK$2,950; Music Foundation at HK$2,680; Intermediate at HK$3,480; and Music at HK$2,680. Enrolment limits are listed class by class and range from 4 places (Music Foundation class C*, Music class 1C*) to 18 places (Intermediate classes 1F, 1G and 1I). The Important Notes add that the IEC programme is an individual programme with a total duration of 2 years and 6 months, and that members who have completed the programme may leave or apply for other programmes; all programmes are conducted in Cantonese except the Putonghua programme.
Gradepath analysis
Fees are charged per instalment of two months, not monthly and not in one lump sum. The programme runs for 2 years and 6 months, but the choir does not publish the number of instalments or the total cost, so do not multiply the per-instalment fee by a guessed number of instalments to estimate the total. The second distinction is the places figure: it is the enrolment limit listed class by class (from 4 to 18), not the total intake for the programme, and the choir does not publish a total per level. Classes marked with an asterisk have only a limited number of places for mid-year entry. Third, the HK$100 application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, and the choir reserves the right to cancel a programme due to insufficient enrolment or other unforeseen reasons — how fees already paid would be handled in that case is not stated on the form.
