Official notice
Diocesan Boys’ School has published its 2027/28 S1 admissions arrangements: forms available from 17 October and due by 17 November, with two admission talks on the opening day. Selection weightings are academic performance 60%, extracurricular activities 20% and interview performance 15%. Interviews are conducted in both Chinese and English.
Gradepath analysis
The weighting table makes the reality plain: academics alone carry 60%, and activities plus interview are supporting evidence. For newly-arrived candidates the trap sits in the English interview, which tests impromptu bilingual response rather than a rehearsed script — the weakest and least quickly-fixable area for transfer students. With under six weeks to the deadline, spoken output training has to start this week.
